Seyed Abolfazl Mousavian (born 1955, Mashhad) is an Assistant professor of MU’s department of Theology. He has completed a Master's degree in "Islamic jurisprudence and principles of Islamic law" in 2000, and a PhD in "Islamic Jurisprudence and principles of Islamic law" in 2005 in the seminary of Qom. He started his seminary courses as a teenager and participated in the courses of Advanced Islamic Jurisprudence and Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence (Kharej-Fiqh and Usul), Ethics and Philosophy for many years.

Among his honors is the selection of his "Religion and Freedom" as a praiseworthy book of the year by the Ministry of Guidance in 2011.
